You've seen the number 31 associated with the Gallery Furniture name on billboards, on television, on web sites, and of course right here on www.GalleryFurniture.com.  It is an important part of  Gallery Furniture's logo.

What does it stand for?

The answer is simple.  It's the number of Houston Fire Department stations that responded to the warehouse fire on May 21, 2009.  Thanks to the heroic efforts of the firefighters from these stations the Gallery Furniture store survived the blaze.  They made a stand and kept the warehouse fire from spreading into the main store.

Investigators say the fire should have destroyed everything.  That it did not is a tribute to the efforts of the firefighters.  In gratitude Gallery Furniture has put the number 31 on its logo.  The number is also part of the commemorative sculpture in front of the North Freeway store.
