Sheila came in Gallery Furniture Saturday to buy two recliners for her husband Paul's Christmas present.  It was great to have her business, but it was even better to hear two of her stories about our service and delivery departments. 

"I had the in home service plan for Paul's parent's recliners that we bought years ago.  The warranty was about to expire and the cushion went out on the foot of it. I called Gallery Furniture and they came out the next day.  As they were fixing it, they pointed out that the other recliner needed repair and that the warranty was about to expire.  It had a cushion that was about to go out as well.  Those guys didn't have to let me know, or even fix it right then.  But the Gallery Furniture service guys went above and beyond and fixed them both that night for me."

The Sheila said there was another time the service people at Gallery Furniture went above and beyond.

"Paul and I had purchased a living room set for our home late at Gallery Furniture.  Well that night at 1:30 am the delivery boys showed up and moved it all in.  I was having problems about where I wanted to place the furniture, but the guys stayed and placed the furniture until I was satisfied.  They told me later that they had 11 more deliveries to do that night!  I was so impressed that they cared enough to make sure everything was perfect, knowing that it was going to be a long night for them."

As for the two recliners Shelia purchased tonight, Gallery Furniture salesman Monkey helped Shelia's experience be "excellent, on a scale of 1-10 it was a 337."

Around 12 in the afternoon, salesman Ray Ray answered a call from a Jim in the Houston area who needed a queen sized mattress and a recliner TODAY. The only problem was he had a pool table in the room and needed it disassembled and moved to his garage. Guess what we did for him.

Ray gave the call to Mack and told him the predicament Jim was having. Mack said we will take care of you and see what we can do for you so just come in. Jim came into Gallery Furniture and purchased his mattress and recliner and had it delivered with in a few hours. The delivery guys were Jose and Alex for the first delivery. Well the table was more difficult than they thought so they called a hot shot team with Fransisco and Paul to come out and help. It was done in no time and Jim was amazed and greatly satisfied.

The most important part was that Jim called Gallery Furniture because they needed it TODAY and Houston's number one furniture store was the only place they knew would deliver. Well another satisfied customer is what we strive for at Gallery Furniture and will continue making those customers happy!

Danny has been put in a unfortunate and uncomical situation. Danny is a small business owner, works 15 hours a day, and is dedicated to his customers.  Danny served as the president of the Chamber of Commerce in Pasedena and likes supporting businesses in the Pasadena area.  Pasadena just opened up a brand new Ashley Furniture store near their home, so Danny opened an account there.

Mr. Hickey thought it would be an easy process at Ashley Furniture, so he went in and ordered the top of the line Ashley recliner, chair, ottoman, and couch.  They also picked out a rug, but didn't get it, because their salesperson told them to wait and make sure they got there furniture first.  So, they went home and waited and waited and waited...Danny told one of our Gallery Furniture Blog Teamers,

"We decided to paint our house the color of the furniture that we bought at Ashley. Our furniture was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday, and so my wife Irene went home during the four hour window they gave us, but nothing showed only the couch and the ottoman.  Then Friday the recliner finally showed up.  Saturday I sat in the recliner with my bad back, layed it back, adjusted it, and next thing I knew, I flipped backwards and fell on my back almost busting out the window.  I took some painkillers, but am still waiting to get tests back from my doctor."

Danny said that he went over to Ashley Furniture and spoke with the manager Dorthy.  Dorthy had a bad back herself and was afraid to sit in the same chair that she sold.  Danny told her just to place her hand on the recliner, and sure enough it flipped! Danny said that he just imagined his mother who has had brain surgery, or someone else with a worse condition being in his position and falling. 

Meanwhile, after still not recieving all his furniture he purchased, Danny traded in his furniture for a different model of recliner and another table.  But guess what, Ashley Furniture can't deliver like Gallery Furniture does.  It has been about two weeks, and Danny and Irene still haven't received their furniture.

Today Danny woke up, bummed about what was supposed to be a great experience, but still willing to make the best of it.  Then he looked across the room and saw his sofa and realized- IT WAS BROKEN. So Danny got on the phone with the Ashley furniture people and talked to a few managers.  This is what Danny told Gallery Furniture in his own words,

"I'm not a real confrontational person, I just want to take care of my customers, and I expect the same from Ashley Furniture.  I finally got everything worked out but then I asked them when they would pick up my broken sofa and bring me my new furniture.  They actually told me January 4th.  The entire reason I wanted furniture was for our Christmas party that already happened last friday, but I was still hoping I could get it in time for our family on Christmas Eve.  That is when I decided to call Mattress Mack.  I know how he operates, and know he will take care of the customer."

Well Danny called Ashley Furniture and they said he could return the furniture but there would a 10% restocking fee on all the furniture he purchased.  Mr. Hickey decided to put all this behind him and just come on out to Gallery Furniture. He got all brand new furniture, and a much needed recliner.  Gallery Furniture and his friendly salesman Rudy helped bring a little ease to a bad situation.  In closing Danny told us,

"You know, our experience with Ashley Furniture is something that we would like to forget, they took away my joy from what was supposed to be an exciting experience redecorating our house.  Gallery Furniture was amazing because y'all are dedicated to the customers.  Even though we had to match our Gallery Furniture to our wall color that we painted in hopes of the Ashley furniture we never recieved, Rudy and Mack made it easy for us."

Jerry and Julie were brought into Gallery Furniture today after looking at other Houston furniture stores for a three piece furniture set.

Jerry and Julie had bought some furniture from Lanes, but later found out that the furniture was inadequate. When they came back to replace the furniture at Lanes, the pieces weren't matching because they were different colors. Lanes in Houston had then closed down on Sunday, so they had to take the furniture back.

Grieesh and his family went to Ashley Furniture but Ashley Furniture was late for delivery and didn't bring them all of their furniture. Graylon Gaston, Vince Young's high school coach, came in Gallery Furniture today.  His wife went to three other Houston furniture stores before she called her husband Graylon. Graylon got on the phone with his wife and told her that they should go see his friends at Gallery Furniture.

Things certainly have changed around here. Long time customers Kellie and Frank Cataldo returned to Gallery Furniture today.  They have been coming to Gallery Furniture for years now, and have a house full of furniture, practically their own Gallery Furniture Showroom! Yesterday I told you about Karen.  She came into Gallery Furniture yesterday to get her grandson a new bed and bed frame.  He hadn't had a bed of his own for 14 years, and his grandmother thought this Christmas would be the perfect time.  Well, here at Gallery Furniture we were excited to see Mrs. Cox in the store again this morning.
