Gallery Furniture is seeing an outpouring of support from Texans everywhere.  As you can understand we are in the process of rebuilding and taking care of customers and there is no way we can take all of the calls or respond to all the emails and other messages.

So we've opened this forum to give you a place to share your thoughts with the Gallery Furniture family.

A few words in response to some of the postings:

We appreciate the thought behind the many offers of donations and labor that have come in.  But there is no need for donations, the employees are working and as Mack says there are two things Gallery Furniture doesn't miss -- a payroll and a delivery.  The offers to push a broom or use a mop warm our hearts as well, but again, we have that covered for now.

What Gallery Furniture needs is what we are getting, the many expressions of concern, your prayers, and your intent to buy furniture from Gallery.  Thank you all for everything you are doing.

Another note:  please don't post email addresses.  We are not able to respond to emails right now and I am removing addresses from posts because we don't want you spammed!

My prayers go out to you and your family Mattress Mac. You have done so much to support your community and we appreciate what a great person you are. I will make my way out to your newly opened location to pick up some stuff-- don't know what yet, but I'm sure I will find something. May God bless you and help you get through this tough time.

I live in Kansas and just heard about the fire on KILT this morning.  I just wanted you to know that your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  You do so much for Houston and I just hope that the City of Houston will be able to help you as much as you have helped everyone!!

As I watched the news last night and drove by the showroom this morning on the way into work, I found myself wishing I needed furniture because I would go straight to Gallery on Post Oak to buy it to support the Gallery Furniture family in this difficult time.  Houston has been blessed with the presence of Gallery Furniture and the generosity of Jim and Linda many for years, and I extend my sympathy for the loss of the warehouse and my very best wishes for the promise of a new day today and a bright future tomorrow.  Somewhere in the ashes lies a Phoenix, and it better get ready to rise again and keep up with the iconic Mattress Mac!

Sorry to hear about your loss, but just know that all things happen for a reason.  I believe as you do that God has something much better for you and this is just a way of bringing it into existance.  Faith will prevail.

Jim McInvale has always shown tremendous support for the City of Houston and its residents. He's

always the first in line to offer assistance to Houstonians who have faced hardships and disasters.

The City of Houston's thoughts, prayers and support go out to Matress Mac, his family and his

employees.

Mack, your interview on Channel 13 last night was a fantastic insight to your optimism and dedication.  You made it clear that your faith in God will get you through this and that His plan will certainly be what is best.  Thank you for showing your true character during this most difficult time.  You will rise above this and continue to help others and through this other will help you.  Remember there are many of your friends praying for you while you are rebuilding.  May God Bless!

My family and I were very sad to read the news this morning about Gallery Furniture.  We moved to Houston a little over 3 years ago from a small town in Texas.  One of our first stops was Gallery Furniture and we were immediately made to feel welcome and at home.  One of the sales associates approached us and said 'Look around and be sure to grab a bite to eat'.  Having just moved to this very large city where the personal touch is hard to come by, someone making the time to stop to say hello was a welcome bit of hospitality.  We purchased a set of couches and were recently talking about making a trip to Gallery Furniture to browse furniture (in anticipation of a new home).  Thank you Mack for all you do and inspiring your work force to be friendly and always helpful and approachable.  We will be praying for you and your employees and your families.  We look forward to shopping with you again and if there is an opportunity to help, we'll be there.  Thanks again and God Bless you, your faith will not go unrewarded.   Jeremiah 29:11.

Mack I have lived here in Houston since I was just a little boy, (since 1976), and have grew up with the address of 6006 I-45 North, between Tidwell & Parker, engrained in my mind.  You are an inspiration to the Houston community and we all think the world of you.  It was devastating to see the news last night, but I know that if anyone can bounce back from something like this, you can, and you will have the full and complete support of the entire Houston area.

God Bless You!

Our thought and prayers are with you Mack and the Gallery Furniture Family.. We live in San Antonio,

Texas and when my mom called us last night to inform us of the fire; I was heart-broken. We are

originally from Houston, so we know how much  you help out the community. And since I was a little

girl I can remember going to gallery furniture to buy our furniture. So much, that my formal diningroom

table, here in San Antonio was bought at Gallery Furniture.

God Bless..

It makes me sad to hear that Gallery Furniture's Warehouse was Burned down. You can tell from the news that Mattress Mack was very hurt but I admire his strength and upside in saying that Gallery Furniture will go on. Mack has done so much for Houston, he is just a very generous person and its sad to hear this happening to him. Houston is with you Mack and anything you need let Houston know so we can help. Thats the least we can do for everything you done for Houston. My prayers and thoughts go with you and your family in this tuff situation.

HOUSTON LOVES YOU MACK!!!

Dear Mattress Mack,

We are praying for you and your immediate family.  We are also praying for your Gallery Furniture family.  We know that last night was a serious blow to your business but God allows things to happen in our life for a reason may it be to make you into a stronger person or an opportunity to be a light to this community or perhaps for others to be a light to you.  You have done so much for this community and we are sorry to hear that this has happened to you.  We pray that during the next months of rebuilding that you never lose sight of the One who has given us a reason to hope.

Very Sincerely,

ScifiChik and Viper

God placed His angels around your employees last night and He is highly to be praised.  I've learned this week many things, but one is, if we trust our Heavenly Father, completely, He will always go before us and protect us, provide for us, and intervene for us when we just don't have the words.  I'm praying for you all and I know you guys will come back stronger than before.  I work for Kendall M. and please know that the entire office is thinking of you guys right now.  Nothing but love and well wishes from this native Houstonian.

The news mentioned donations but I didn't get the info and I would love to help. Should donations be sent to the Post Oak location?

I was so sorry to learn of this fire and to see it on TV.  This store is an icon of Houston and you know what ? Gallery Furniture has the only Advertisements I love seeing on TV and the radio.  I usually grumble at the other boring commercials, but I always get a smile on my face when i hear the Galelry Furniture commercials.

Hopefully the radio and tv stations can take the hit if you had to pull your schedule for awhile!

Max is a true texan that will have another texas sized warehouse filled to the rafters in no time, its the Texas way..... hopefully a warehouse DOUBLE the size as the Lord blesses Houston and the Gallery family.

Our prayers are with you.

We are praying for you!  You were so amazing to our family after Hurricane Ike.  We were without a mattress and we were housing another family whose hourse was terribly destroyed and you were able to bring a mattress to our house the same day.  I never knew how much I appreciated having somewhere to sleep until that time.  Thank you!  I know Gallery Furniture will come back stronger and better than before.

Best wishes to you, Mac, and all your Gallery Furniture Family, from your friends here at Mayo.  We thank God that no one was injured in the fire.  It is an honor to be one of your product suppliers, and we are grateful to you all for helping us be a better manufacturer.  We know you will face some very tough challenges recovering from the fire, but there's no doubt you have the determination and grit to persevere and emerge better than ever.  We stand ready to help in any way we can, and you are in our prayers.

I'd like to thank you for what you have done for me personally in the past, after Tropical Storm Allison flooded our home.  We had a mattress to sleep on thanks to you!  We were only one of thousands that have benefited from your generosity and kindness.

Here's best wishes for a speedy recovery to the business!  Gallery Furniture is such a part of Houston, and we will look anxiously for it to be back in business as usual on I-45.

Mack we are deeply sorry for your loss.  We've truely enjoyed doing business with you over the years.

Two questions:

1) Do you anticipate having some merchandise that you will be liquidating with minor smoke damage?  If so when?  Ie specifically mattresses that might be in wrapping.

2) Are you computer systems still up (probably a dumb question with your website running)?  We wanted to do a return and repurchase which would obviously require the past records.

Thanks, keep doing a great job!

Praying for you Mack, your family and Gallery Furniture family. Mack, you are a beacon of faith and you shone brightly for the Lord last night. I too have no doubt that the Lord will sustain you always.

"You will keep them in perfect peace whose mind is fixed on You, because they trust You." - Isa 26:3

"I am not alone for God is always with me.

I am not afraid for God is protecting me.

I am forgiven everthing for God is loving me.

I will bear good fruit for God is helping me.

I will persevere for God is sustaining me.

I will be saved for God is calling me."

God bless you always!

Good morning Mattress Mac and Gallery Furniture Family - I love you all so much. My heart and prayers go out to you all. Our family home was burnt a couple of years ago and after we finally got back on our feet we came straight to Gallery Furniture to furnish our home and have been back several times to purchase other items.  Mattress Mac you have been so great to Houston and the surrounding communities. I pray

that God will keep you all and sustain you during this time. We love you and I know all will be well with you and the Gallery family.

Dear Gallery Furniture Family:

We express our deepest regrets for this unfortunate incident and look forward to seeing you guys rebound strong as ever.  As well, we want to personally thank you for the expeditious evacuation of your facility, as we were shopping for a new TV and entertainment system, at the time of the fire.  God bless you all.
