Happy Gallery Furniture customers celebrated the outcome of the big football game Sunday night as they won $7,000,000 in furniture free.

Gallery Furniture ran a promotion that promised customers who purchased $6000 or more in furniture during the promotional period a full rebate if the team from Seattle won the big game.

The promotion was tremendously well received, with qualifying customers purchasing over $7,000,000 in furniture.

Gallery Furniture has a history of generous customer promotions. A highly publicized promotion a few weeks early resulted in a $685,000 furniture give-away.

Owner Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale does not take insurance on the promotions, and takes a positive attitude toward the giveaways. "What's good for Gallery Furniture customers is good for Gallery Furniture and good for Houston," he frequently remarks.

Somewhat of a local celebrity, McIngvale speaks often to community groups and schools, and often even hosts guests from local universities and MBA programs who come to learn about the streamlined systems that power his one-of-a-kind furniture business.

Starting Gallery Furniture over 32 years ago with a tent and a single truck, Jim McIngvale has built his business into a Houston household name. With this most recent promotion, word is being spread nationwide.  Today, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale works seven days a week, standing by the front entrance of his store to greet his customers.

Gallery Furniture has always embraced the unexpected.  The store pioneered same day delivery with a dedicated staff and drivers who are empowered to go the extra mile no matter what. Whether walking a customer’s dog, mowing a lawn, or carrying a full set of solid wood bedroom furniture up 16 flights of stairs when a service elevator is broken, Gallery Furniture strives delight and dazzle customers every day.

This latest promotion is no exception, and Mack began his Monday as always, standing next to his desk by the front door to greet customers with a smile.
