 Ted, I want to send great big HUGS to all of you who helped me with my purchase!!! I want to start with Opie, (although I didn't get a chance to meet him) he stayed with me and my purchase til the very end and called back with some information for me for a future purchase!!! Of course I'm not going to forget about you, you made me feel extremely special when I walked in the door and the one thing that I really appreciated from you ,was how you kept your word!! You told me you could get me what I wanted within the price that  I was approved for and you worked those miracles and made it happened!!! Okay I can't forget about Darryl, he made sure I was taken care while you did your honey do list!!  That's true TEAMWORK!!! Ted at the credit desk was helpful as well, he check and double checked and he saw that we missed something and could add my extra nightstand, which made my daughters room complete!!!! I don't recall the young lady that checked me out, but she did it with a smile the entire time, and didn't make me feel like I was spending my life away!!! LOL

Last but not least, your delivery guys...OMG!!!! what training do they go thru? THEY WERE AWESOME!!!! Not only did they call me  with a time frame they were coming, but when they got to my house I greeted them , with a joke....I said it's alot of furniture that needs to be moved before we can bring in this new furniture, and they answered me with the biggest smile and said...WE ARE HERE TO MAKE
YOU A SATISFIED CUSTOMER...WHERE DO WE START????? Well lucky for them I had all the old furniture out and the only thing that needed moved was a TV and they did!!! WITH  A SMILE!!!  They made sure that I had everything in place where I wanted it to be and they made sure that it was working properly  before they left. Great guys, great guys!!!
I know I've seen the commericals about Gallery, and sometimes you think, yea, yea, yea, they got a discount to say that stuff, BUT all I can say is Mattress Mac, has a great staff, that not only promotes teamwork but goes over and beyond the "TEAMWORK" thought process!!
 
You guys made me feel extra special and yes I will be back in about 6 months to purchase by bedroom set.
 
I'm sorry, I can't forget about the dinner I had on Monday......YUMMY!!!!  hats off to the staff in the kitchen!!!!
 
One more thing, the most impressive part of my purchase was walking in the store and seeing Mattress Mac behind the counter,  I would have figured that he would be someone hunting and relaxing, but I see he is still working hard like his team!!!!
 
I've attached a couple of pictures, as you can tell my dog is enjoying the most!!!!!

“In 1992 we came into Gallery Furniture for the first time. We only came to come and eat one of the free sub sandwiches. When we were walking around a salesperson had taken our credit application for a couch, however we had no intention of buying anything we were really only there for the sub sandwich. So we sneaked off and at our sandwich and on the way out a salesperson was stopped us to say that we were approved for the couch. So we ended up purchasing the sofa but we got the free sandwich! Every since then we have been a repeat customer of Gallery Furniture and won’t go anywhere else.”

I went to another furniture store first looking for a black leather seating set to match an ottoman I already owned. When I arrived I went in and asked where a black leather couch and chair would be and I was told, “Over there and to the right.” After finding something I may be interested in I had to find a salesman who was not helpful at all and only handed me a business card and said, “If you decide to get it call me from this time to this time on these days.” I then left very upset at the service. I came to Gallery Furniture and was greeted and helped by Angela, who was very delightful and helpful. I told her I had my ottoman in my car and would like a chair and sofa to match it. Not only did she go out there and look at the ottoman but she got a helper to bring it around the store and place it with different seating sets. This allowed me to visualize how it would look and I was able to take photos to get other opinions on it. I found the exact set I was looking for at Gallery Furniture thanks to the helpful staff and the great selection. Overall I was very pleased with my visit and purchase!

My wife, Helen and I, were on a mission this last weekend looking for replacement living room furniture and had decided we would go to all of the major furniture stores in the greater Houston area to make sure we found exactly what we were looking for, and of course at the best price we could get. We had never done business with Gallery but this is where we chose to start.
Charles met us at the front door, he asked what he could do to help so we spent the next hour and a half looking around the showroom and discussion the products. We told him this was our first stop of many that was planned to find all that we were looking for. Chuck was very understanding and did not pressure us in anyway.
We spent the next 4 hours at other stores with a really different experience, one made us feel like we were “out of our league” yet another store told us that the deal we made was only right then, and right there, another sales person spent more time downing competition… So needless to say we made a bee line back to Gallery and Chuck finished the deal.
Then we met Ted…quite a guy, we told him we only had one issue on the deal and he was able to resolve that on the spot with a smile on his face. Ted brought us to Patti at the desk, who was equally as pleasant and asked how our experience was. Now a lot of people ask you “How was your experience”, but most don’t care about the response… Patti was sincere, you could tell she meant it.
Were not done… this all happened around 3:00 or so the Saturday before Easter. Around 7:00pm that very evening, Raphael and Juan showed up in the delivery truck and as true to form, they were two of the most pleasant delivery drivers I have met in a long time. The introduced themselves and delivered 6 pieces of furniture in about an hour, very professional.
Mr. McIngvale, thank you for keeping customer service an important part of your business, prices and products are all pretty close across the board, but your people and the way you conduct business set Gallery Furniture worlds apart from the rest. The fact you’re at the front desk say a lot about how you run your business. This experience has solidified where we will trade in the future.

Last Friday, two of your delivery men, Herman and Meg, delivered my couch to me and removed my old couch and loveseat. Those guys were wonderful. I am a senior citizen and was alone at the time. Not only did they set up my couch, but they re-arranged my furniture (two big Lazy Boys, a monster marble coffee table and rug) and helped vacuum where the old furniture had been. When they left, my room looked as great as I had imagined. Those young men made me a Gallery Furniture customer from here on out. I'm glad to see that your example of service to your community has extended to your employees in such a generous manner. Thank you so much for that and all that you do.

Mack, I wanted to mention to you again that your Customer Service and (Repair?) Shop personnel are Best !!! They helped us out with a nagging problem on a previous purchase (NOT Gallery's fault!), went above and beyond, and absolutely could not have been nicer or more concerned with getting it right... and they succeeded at every turn. Tommy Clark from Friendswood had a rough weekend, but lucky for him, he visited Gallery Furniture on Sunday, and left the store with a smile on his face.

Tommy spent his Saturday with his wife and kids shopping around for living room furniture. He first tried Bel Furniture. After spending several hours finding the furniture he wanted, he worked with his salesman through the whole process until the very end when he was informed the set was out of stock. Instead of waiting three weeks for Bel to order and receive a new set, Tommy and his family kept looking. They found another set they liked, but again, it was out of stock. Tommy then shopped at La-Z-Boy Furniture, but he was frustrated by the high-pressure sales approach where it was obvious the salespeople worked on commission.

On Sunday, Tommy followed the light and shopped at Gallery. He came into the store and bought the second living room set he saw; it was exactly what he wanted. And like every customer that comes to Gallery, Tommy will have his furniture today.

“I should have come to Gallery first,” said Tommy. “I love that man (Mattress Mack) too!”

Our newest friends Rachelle and her daughter, Alexa, are raving about their fantastic shopping experience at Gallery Furniture after weeks of stress and headache with Star Furniture.

Rachelle headed off to Star Furniture and bought a bunk bed and bedroom collection for her daughters. Eight days after the purchase, Star delivered the furniture, but to Rachelle’s surprise, something was wrong. The headboard and footboard of the top bunk were crooked. She called Star asking for a replacement, and Star said Rachelle would have her new bunk bed in about two weeks. (Oh! Did we mention that Alexis and her sister were sleeping on the couch during this whole ordeal?) Star was able to “accommodate” Rachelle by giving her someone else’s bunk bed order and delivering it in a week.

Rachelle received her second bunk bed, but again, the bunk bed was crooked. Rachelle called Star and asked for her money back. Instead of listening and helping Rachelle, Star thought the solution was to persuade Rachelle to shop for even more furniture. Eventually, Star took back the bedroom furniture, and afterward, Rachelle finally received her money back.

After dealing with Star, Rachelle saw the light and came to Gallery Furniture. “I should have come here to begin with,” says Rachelle.

Her salesperson, Edgar, was more than happy to offer his assistance. “Edgar is a great guy,” says Rachelle.

With a new bedroom set (and a new kitchen table for her mother), Rachelle is one happy customer, and says she will always shop first at Gallery Furniture.


Our new friend Terry recently had a bad experience with Ashley Furniture. He purchased a lot of furniture including a rug that they assured him was in their warehouse just a few blocks away. That’s when the nightmare started.

Terry drove to the warehouse only to discover that the rug was not in the warehouse. Not to worry, they told him he could have one from the store that customers had been walking on all day. He politely declined and went home to await his furniture, which was supposed to arrive on the 1st.

When the 1st came, he waited all day only to receive a call late in the afternoon informing him that he would receive his furniture on the 23rd. This was Terry’s breaking point. He cancelled the order and came to Gallery where he bought two rugs, two end tables, a coffee table, and a dinette set. He’ll have it in his home tonight!


Dear Mattress Mack and the Gallery Furniture Team,

We just wanted to drop a short line to say thank you for a very pleasant and satisfying furniture buying experience. About a week ago, we ordered a couch and recliner of the Ekornes Stressless furniture line, which will come to us soon. At our request, and without any high-pressure sales tactics, but simply with a courteous, competent and professional manner, Greg Hopf, at the Post Oak store, began the education process for us on the product line, describing the models, features, etc. We learned a lot from Greg; enough to become interested enough to do further research on our own, and also to make a trip out to Gallery's I-45 store to see what samples might be on the floor there. While at that store, a salesman named Mike was very kind and helpful to us, sharing with us his experience of having visited the Ekornes home in Scandinavia. Fascinating. After further consideration, we returned to the Post Oak store to place our order with Greg Hopf, who could not have been more patient, competent, and thorough in assisting us to put everything together for our order.

Then, after a week of consideration, and feeling very good about last week's Gallery experience, we returned to the Post Oak store today and purchased a Tempur-Pedic Rhapsody mattress and platform. Before heading out to the store, we called Greg Hopf, the salesman we had worked with before, to ask a few questions: 1) Is the July 4th special still going on? 2) Is the Rhapsody model with the low platform base in stock? 3) Is Gallery able to remove our old mattress and box spring? 4) Is it possible to have the delivery this evening? The answer was yes on all counts. We headed straight over to Post Oak. Greg had all the paperwork ready. Well pleased, we paid and left. Approximately a couple of hours later, a truck pulled up in front of our home. Two exceeding professional and polite delivery men negotiated our old mattress and box spring out, ushered in and set up our new Tempur-Pedic and platform base. And so it was that within a time span of 3 hours, from purchase to final set up in our home, we were complete. Incredible. We cannot begin to tell you all how pleased and impressed we are with the service and attention we have received from all of the fine folks at Gallery Furniture. You all are amazing. Thank you for all and we wish you all the best for your future continued success.

I just had to write you. My visit to Gallery Furniture yesterday was such a wonderful experience! Denis was a huge help and led me to the exact location to select the perfect bookcases for my home. He asked me pertinent questions to understand what I wanted, what woods would blend with my existing furniture, and what price range would fit my budget for this purchase. He pointed out a number of choices and was so personable during the process. It was a joy to be there. And the cashier was cheerful and seemed to love her job. She communicated the delivery options in a manner that I felt appreciated and cared for.

Then, when the bookcases arrived yesterday afternoon, your deliverymen, Juan Mena and Jose Cruz, were careful and courteous. I have never had delivery personnel be so helpful, considerate, and efficient. They capped out a great experience and made it memorable!

From my experience -- and I have had many at furniture stores before -- I know you have established a superb culture at your store and built a to-die-for team spirit. The sales people congregated at the front door were happy, smiling, and made me feel welcome, both when I came in and also again when I left. You are to be congratulated! It is refreshing to have such a fabulous experience in a retail establishment!

I am planning to re-do 3 rooms in my home in the near future. I will definitely choose Gallery Furniture to do the job. You can count on that!

Honor, character, integrity...

I recently purchased 2 Lane Hogan leather recliners.

I am letting you know that the purchase experience was as good as always and pass along my compliments to the Gallery team.

I began buying furniture from Mack when his store was in the 3 houses there along the feeder road. Over time, I have grown to admire and genuinely respect Mack, his team, and his business. I was living away from Houston when the fire happened. However, not long after the fire, I made a trip to Houston, attended a meeting in the Galleria area, and decided to visit that Gallery store. There was Mack - in that store - doing the deal as always with everyone rallied around him.

Mack is personally an inspiration to me in more ways than he might ordinarily contemplate, and regarding matters unrelated to furniture. Honor, character, integrity - it shows and matters much. Please pass this note along to him, and thanks to you Mack for the voicemail message you left after I bought the recliners.

Tammy was so pleased with her experience at Gallery Furniture, she just had to tell us about it!

When we start looking for furniture, we always decide to look at more than one place. It never fails, we always end up getting our furniture at Gallery. We decided this last time that we will start with Gallery and end with Gallery. You have the best customer service, a clean facility and things to keep our kids busy while we shop. Your employees have wonderful attitudes and are a pleasure to deal with (keep them salaried and not commissioned).

Our last purchase was a king size bedroom suit and mattress. The bedroom is absolutely beautiful and the mattress is the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Earnest Hines was our sales person. From the moment we walked in, he was so helpful. He had our daughter Kendall set up to play with the monkeys. When our furniture was delivered she said, "I didn't know y'all bought a bed." She was having so much fun with the monkeys, she didn't even know we bought anything other than a mattress.

I want to thank Jim and all of his staff (especially Earnest) for the star treatment and customer service. We had a great experience, as usual. Gallery will be our first stop every time.

No more Rooms to Go! After waiting for over a month to recieve his furniture (including several failed deliveries), a new friend stopped by Gallery Furniture. With Gallery, he won't be waiting around at home from 4 - 7 only to receive a call at 7 from Rooms to Go saying they won't be able to deliver his furniture because of other deliveries. He came to visit Mack at Gallery Furniture and bought his furniture knowing he'll have it today!

John and Debra shared their story with us:

Our new friends, John and Debra, came to Gallery Furniture to furnish their bedroom. John was intent on a Tempur-Pedic mattress, but after laying on it in the store Debra wasn’t convinced. Needless to say, John was very persuasive and our delivery team showed up Tempur-Pedic in tow.

After the first night Debra was a believer. “It’s the best mattress I’ve ever laid on,” she exclaimed. “There’s no comparison to our old mattress!” The couple said they used to wake up in the morning feeling like a truck had hit them. Now they’re not even sure they move at all during the night.

They are so happy with the way Gallery has treated them they were back today to buy a television!


Dear Mack,

I would like to take the opportunity to share positive recent experience at your store. On May 23, 2010, I purchased an entire living room set and arranged to have it delivered to my new home. I was very satisfied with your store and your employees. I especially liked the lemonade. The furniture came on the day it was promised, at the time it was promised. It was missing some items,  however, your staff went back to the store and came back with the items that day and made it right. I am very pleased with the merchandise and the shopping experience.

On the same weekend I also purchased a bedroom set from Rooms To Go. It was delivered, not when I wanted it, but on their schedule. There were three items missing and instead of making it right, they just said that they will come back out in a week with my merchandise. They expect me tot ake another day off work to sit around the house and wait on them. Their drivers were not professional and courteous like yours. In all, I am very dissatisfied with my experience with Rooms To Go and would not recommend them to anyone. I regret my purchase and wish that I had purchased all of my furniture from Gallery. I will do so in the Future.

Joey and Gina Se shared their story with us:

Joey and Gina Se weren’t even planning on buying a mattress, but after spending some time with Gallery salesperson, Greg, and being impressed by his knowledge and approach the couple decided “what the hell.” Joey was used to a high-end mattress, but was looking for a mattress that was both adjustable and provided additional back support. Tempur-Pedic was the obvious solution.

The couple purchased their mattress at 4pm and heard the Gallery delivery crew knocking on their door around 7pm. The following day he received a personal call from Mattress Mack himself, ensuring that everything worked out great, which was reassuring Joey noted, after spending a few thousand dollars.

Joey, a Houston business owner for 30 years, explained that he doesn’t endorse anything he doesn’t believe in, but that he thoroughly believed in his new Tempur-Pedic mattress and his Gallery Furniture experience. “Nobody can do that here in Houston,” he said, referencing the same day delivery!


Virginia shared her story with us:

Virginia and her husband had been waking up with headaches and pain in their neck and shoulders for over a year. They endured the aggravation while her husband researched the best mattress to alleviate their pain. Finally, they woke up one morning and decided they were tired of taking Advil everyday.

It was Memorial Day and they decided to come into Gallery Furniture and purchase a Tempur-Pedic mattress. The couple bought the mattress at 3pm and were surprised when it arrived at their house approximately 3 hours later at 6pm, despite being one of the busiest days of the year for Gallery.

Virginia said the mattress took a couple of days to get used to, but that she’s now gone three mornings in a row without any pain. It’s “everything we thought it would be,” she exclaimed proudly.


"Very Pleasant Experience"

We went to the I-45 store last Sunday and bought two loft beds (one boy one girl) with built in desks and dressers. They were delivered today. No only were the guys right on time (they were supposed to be delivered between noon and 5 and they arrived at 11:55), but they were very respectful, diligent in their work, nicely dressed and they apologized every time they had to ask where something should be placed. They worked hard for 3 hours getting everything assembled and in place. I was very impressed by the whole experience, and plan to go back soon to get a living room set. Thank you very much!

My husband and I were just browsing for furniture this weekend, as we are closing on our first home this month and wanted to see what we could buy. We went to several stores in the North Houston area before stopping in at Gallery. Maggie treated us with amazing customer service, spent hours showing us everything we wanted to see, and did not push us into purchasing. It was also pretty cool to see Mack running around, visit the animals, and enjoy a free meal. We decided to purchase a livingroom "dream deal" with an amazing price tag and financing options for that were right for us. Hey, I’m A Believer Now!

 That’s what Bonnie just joyfully shouted in the phone! “I want to be a Tempur-pedic Poster Child” she said after retelling her story to me. For the last several months Bonnie has been suffering chronic back pain. Nothing she tried seem to really make a difference so she decided to see what the hype was all about with Tempur-pedic.

She started her research on www.galleryfurniture.com where she read the many customer testimonials and immediately told herself “ surely it can’t be this good, these testimonies must be from Mack’s family or friends.”

 With nothing left to try, Bonnie and her husband visited the Post Oak location of Gallery Furniture on October 7, 2011, worked with one of the sleep experts to pick out the right sleep sets, and as only Gallery Furniture can do had it delivered and set up in her Needville, Texas home last night.

 When she woke up this morning she couldn’t believe it, she was pain free! After just one night on her new Gallery Furniture Tempur-pedic Sleep set she had no pain! “Wow” she said, I’m a believer and want everyone to know the difference it has made in my life! All those testimonies I read were real, in fact, they undersold the benefits of this great mattress! Yes, she said, I’m a believer NOW.
