Disposable Furniture vs Heirloom Furniture: Two Completely Different Philosophies

Why is so much furniture today made to be disposable?

Well, you know, for years we've lived in a disposable economy, but people are now waking up and seeing the fallacy of it all.

Why does so much furniture wear out so quickly? Because a lot of manufacturers aren't building furniture anymore. They're building to a price.

They ask, "What's the cheapest material we can use? They're bringing the furniture in from China, and they're asking, 'What's the fastest way to build it, and how do we sell it to these customers?'" No, it's not going to last. They have no conscience.

The Amish ask a completely different question. They ask, "What's the best way to build this furniture so it lasts for generations, so it doesn't end up in the landfill with all the furniture from China?"

Those are two completely different philosophies. One creates furniture that ends up on the curb or in the landfill. The other creates furniture that will end up in your grandchildren's home.

At Gallery Furniture, we made the choice. We stuck the flag in the ground. We believe in American craftsmanship. We believe in premium hardwoods. We believe in jobs for Americans. We believe in supporting American jobs and supporting the American way of life.

That's why we sell Amish-made furniture, hand-built to hand-down, made for you, made to last for generations.
