Wood naturally contains lots of moisture in it, like your body contains moisture in it, water in it. If you build furniture before that moisture is properly removed or shrunk down to 3 or 4 percent, the wood can expand, twist, crack, and warp.

As it dries inside your home, it splits. It actually splits.

Kiln drying carefully removes that moisture from the wood before the furniture is ever built.
