Mattress Mack we're here to solve customer problems every day, customer came in about a week ago, they had put in layaway a fabulous 3-piece power reclining sofa, loveseat and recliner. Unbeknownst to me, the customer had called the salesman the week before and told the salesman he was coming in to get the 3-piece to surprise his wife on her birthday.

Well, as things would happen, we didn't have that particular sofa when the customer came in and he was absolutely devastated. We don't disappoint customers very often at Gallery Furniture, but we definitely disappointed this customer.

So I said, “Wait just a minute.” I got on the phone and called friends that I knew in the furniture business across the country, found the same set brand-new at a furniture warehouse in North Texas. We got one of our delivery guys to leave at 4:00 in the morning the next morning.

He got to that warehouse at 8:00, picked up the sofa, loveseat and recliner, brought it down, we delivered it just in time for the wife's birthday party.

Did going to Dallas and picking up that furniture and bringing back down here cost us more money than we made on the sale? Of course it did, but it's not about the money, it's about the customer.
