A great question: what's the difference between Gallery Furniture's same-day delivery and everybody else?Β
Well, everybody else uses contract drivers. Contract drivers, and usually the delivery will take anywhere from three weeks to nine weeks to 25 weeks, I've heard. The contract drivers are fine people.
They don't have the customer's interest at heart. They're worried about how many stops they can make and how much money they can make. Quite often, the contract drivers leave the furniture on your front porch.
If it's two or three stories, I've heard many stories. They get out there and look up, say it's two-story. I'm not going to do it. They get in the truck and drive off.
They're not customer-friendly. At Gallery Furniture, the people who deliver the furniture, who knock on your door at six o'clock at night to deliver your furniture, are wearing Gallery Furniture uniforms. They're Gallery Furniture team members.
Many of them have been here 10, 20, 30 years. They're experts, the best ever at delivering furniture. The difference is expertise, people that work for Gallery Furniture, people that are desirous of one thing: to make the customers happy on the delivery.
I had a delivery the other day. Gallery Furniture team members go out there. The lady was in her adjustable bed. She bought a new adjustable bed. She was panicked because her housekeeper couldn't lift her out of the bed to get the other bed put in.Β
Our guy lifted her up, carried her over, put her on the sofa. We moved her old bed out, put in the new adjustable bed, picked her out of the sofa again, put her back in the bed.Β
That's what we do. The difference is people that care about you.
