How do I keep my leather chair from cracking?
Number 1, keep it out of direct sunlight. If that sun's coming through the window and refracting on your leather sofa, not good. Like getting a terrible sunburn, it wears and wears and cracks. Keep it away from direct sunlight.
Keep it away from heat vents. That'll dry it out. Just wipe it occasionally with a damp cloth and it'll be fine.
Leather furniture wears like iron if you keep it out of the direct or refracted sunlight. If you do that with your leather furniture and you clean it every month or so with a damp cloth and water, it'll be just fine.
Leather furniture is a great fabric. It wears like iron. It gets better with age, but sunlight is a no-no.
