Why Buy American-Made Furniture? The Difference Is Bigger Than You Think

People ask me all the time, "Why should I buy American-made furniture? Why not buy something from China, Vietnam, Turkey, wherever?"

It's real simple.

Buy American products, support American jobs.

People support you, support the home team. And when you buy American products like solid wood, Amish-made furniture, it lasts.

It lasts a lifetime.

Solid wood matters. And what actually matters is those craftspeople in Amish, Ohio.

The Amish, they build that furniture, they build it by hand, they make the finest solid wood furniture in the world, we bring it down here to Houston, we sell it, and you get heirloom-quality furniture.

Here's how the Amish work.

If one of those builders—and I've seen it happen before—their factory catches on fire and burns down, the next week they take 2 days off, they all come together, and they rebuild the building, the barn together.

It's amazing, just like it was done 200 years ago.

Is that not the America you want, where the community says, "We're shut down.

We're going to rebuild Mr.

Jones' factory today.

Even though he's a competitor of ours, we're all going to take 2 or 3 days off and rebuild it."

It's an amazing place. Buy American, support American jobs, support the home team. It's worth doing.
