It is not comfortable. The foot rest does not rise level so feet are below body. Have to use pillow to keep Feet raised after open heart surgery. The back doesn’t go back level either. Gave up and sleep in old lever action recliner which has to be done for me. I have contacted Gallery numerous times to ask if this was a flaw the foot rest not rising level with not one reply. So I decided to write a review I am post 6 weeks and yes I sit in it during the day but come night no Not looking for anything but a reply to my questions

I purchased for my husband because he is about to have back surgery. I hope the chair will work out for him once he has the surgery. We feel the chair is a great quality chair. The chair was delivered with a small tear on the back side of the chair. Delivery person and salesman Roger Bewley both assured me that they will have this taken care of with the service department.

I’m shopping for my dad. Does medicare pay for the lift mechanism and if so how much for the lift unit?
Medicare will pay for the motor of the chair which is typically anywhere from $200-$600. It’s not the easiest process since it’s not broken down like that. You get a prescription and buy the chair you can submit it to Medicare and also to the state for the sales tax refund. Have a great night!

Would this chair be suitable for a 6 foot tall man ? Would his feet hang over the end when fully reclined?
It would definitely be suitable especially in the back part. I’m 6 foot 2 and my feet hang off a little bit on every chair.
Is the micro fiber material like chenille type or more leather like texture?
It's a smooth polyester fabric. Are you asking more for sliding on and off of it?
